Purple Couch Project

Videography - Interview
Winter 2024
Project Overview
This was an interview with Harrison Pringle of the Purple Couch Program, a mental health initiative at Algonquin College that allows students to chat with volunteers about their mental health.
My Contributions
I directed, interviewed, shot, and recorded the interview along with Matthew Montgomery. In addition to setting up the lighting and camera to capture the visuals and b-roll across different scenes, I also primarily managed the client throughout the course of the project, including proposing the idea for the interview, setting up a time for the interview including all required rentals, and handing off the required materials to the client after the fact.

Software/Hardware used

Canon T7i (Video)
 Feb 2024
Using my camera's video settings in addition to other portable equipment, I set up and recorded video at various locations across campus with proper exposure, lighting, and focus.
Audio Recorder
 Feb 2024
A portable clip microphone set was used alongside an audio recorder to capture a higher audio quality recording of the interview.
