Mindmates

Web Design & Development - Solo Coding Project
Fall 2024
Project Overview
During my time at Algonquin College, I was part of an development team known as HaHaHa for a Media Project Management course. With this group, we identified an opportunity for a mental health wellness app, which we ended up calling MindMates.
My Contributions
Over the course of seven weeks, together we planned, designed, tested, developed, and produced a fully interactive prototype of the app in Figma. I organized the distribution of tasks amongst all group members in addition to some other administrative duties. I also took a major design role in the layout of the navigation and settings portions of the prototype, and contributed heavily to the functionality of the prototype stages. I also organized the gathering of user experience data on the app with a guided user testing experience and collated that data into usable feedback to implement into the app.

Software/Hardware used

Figma
 Oct 2024 - Dec 2024
In order to map out the App, we created low and high fidelity wireframes of the website in Figma. The sizing and components allowed for a simple interactive version of the lo-fi wireframe prototype without requiring code, speeding up testing and adjustments to the UI. In addition, the simultaneous editing nature of Figma allowed for easy collaboration throughout the project.

An interactive prototype was produced for both the phone and tablet sizes of the app.
Canva
Oct 2024 - Dec 2024
Canva was used to produce slides and concept art for the project, including project presentations to other groups and to the client.
Adobe Illustrator
Nov 2024
Elements of the app were created using Adobe Illustrator, including the logo and other vector graphics included in the final prototypes.
